Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Vellum ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Vellum provides a herd management platform that includes real time weight tracking, daily net asset value computation, health alerts, and related analytics tools for cattle operations.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the platform, or interfere with any other party's use of the Service.

5. Data Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to your herd data, weight records, financial information, and any other data you provide to or generate through the Service. We claim no ownership over your data.

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally need to perform maintenance that requires temporary downtime. We will provide advance notice whenever possible.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Weight estimates from GPS collars are approximations and should not be used as a substitute for certified scale weights for commercial transactions. NAV calculations are based on publicly available USDA market data and are provided for informational purposes. Vellum is not a financial advisor.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vellum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

9. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
