Vellum started with a simple observation: ranchers make million dollar decisions based on quarterly weigh-ins and gut instinct. The financial industry settled this decades ago with daily portfolio valuations. Why should a 2,000 head cattle operation be any different?
When Halter released GPS collars capable of streaming real time weight data, we saw the opportunity. Combine that data with live USDA market prices, and suddenly you can compute the net asset value of every animal, every day. No spreadsheets. No guesswork.
That is what Vellum does. We turn collar data and market feeds into a financial dashboard that lets you see exactly what your operation is worth before you finish your morning coffee. Add health alerts on top and you have the operating system modern ranching has been missing.

You can see where every NAV figure comes from, which USDA price feed it uses, and when the data was last updated. No black boxes. If we show you a number, we show you how we got it.
