When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and ranch details you provide during onboarding. When you use the platform, we collect herd data transmitted from your Halter GPS collars, including estimated weight readings, GPS coordinates, and collar status information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Vellum platform. This includes computing daily net asset values, generating health alerts, producing reports, and displaying dashboard data. We also use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our algorithms and models.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal or herd data to third parties. We share data only in the following circumstances: with your explicit consent, with service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, email delivery, payment processing), or when required by law.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored in encrypted databases hosted in the United States. We use TLS 1.3 for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest. Access to production databases is restricted to authorized personnel and logged.

5. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at privacy@vellum.app. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third party tracking cookies.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the platform.
